Today, I am thankful that my baby sister has
finally been released from the hospital. Littlest One had the worse kind of pneumonia and the worse case of it seen in years! She spent a fair amount of time on iv and oxygen for her first week in, then had to get her pesky platelets and liver enzymes in order! Now that’s accomplished, she’s safe in her own home, with her wee ones.
I’m thankful that her husband is such a terrific dad. He held the fort with a three year old and a one year old for FOUR days before our Mom could show up and give a hand. I’m sure he was very appreciative when Mom showed up! It’s hard to be the Mommy when you’re the Daddy! And, when your 3-yr old gets sick, too, it’s even harder!
I’m thankful that our Mom was able to pack up and go to help. It doesn’t surprise me, mind you. That’s the kind of Mom she is! And, of course, she had Dad’s full support… but you KNOW he missed her. Lots.
I’m thankful that Littlest One’s in-laws were able to show up for the Easter Weekend to lend a hand. Having not one, but TWO Grandmas around during the day sure made it better for my nieces. And having a Grandpa and Auntie there too made it 5 adults for two little girls. No shortages of laps or love there!
Littlest One slept in her bed last night, home at last! And, for that, I am very, very much thankful!
Since there’s a law somewhere that there must be a picture for it to be a REAL post, here’s a picture of Littlest One when she was wee little. (25 years ago!)
Now it’s your turn! What are you thankful for? Big or small, it’s all important!
I’d really love to see your comments on the projects I do and the ideas I have. I learn more from critiques than praise, but, honestly, I adore praise (and who doesn’t?).
Thanks for stopping by.
